SRINAGAR (KNO) : Broadcast & Multimedia Journalist Association (BMJA) while strongly condemning the attack of Journalists in Sopore demands stern action against accused persons.

BMJA has learnt that yesterday a team of Journalists was attacked by some contractors inside the R&B Division Sopore while discharging their professional duty. BMJA expresses sympathy and extends full support to thrashed media person Shahid Imran Editor Kashmir Crown newspaper, Video Journalist Aashiq Mir and Zee Media scribe Tajamul Islam. BMJA expresses dismay over the rising incidents of journalist's manhandling in valley.

BMJA said that no one has right to suppress the press or to sabotage serious public grievance. BMJA demands concern authorities of district administration to intervene into the incident of thrashing of media persons in the large interest of public and Freedom of press bestowed in democracy.(KNO)
